WDI Group (Surrey) Ltd
Standard Quotation Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to all quotations issued by WDI Group (Surrey) Ltd (“WDI Group”). By accepting this quotation, paying a deposit or instructing us to proceed, the Client agrees to these terms together with any applicable trade-specific Terms & Conditions referred to in the quotation.
Nothing in these terms affects the Client’s statutory rights.
1. Quotation & Scope of Works
This quotation includes only the works, labour and materials specifically described within it.
Unless stated otherwise, quotations are based on a visual, non-intrusive assessment and information available to us at the time. Concealed defects, inaccessible services or other conditions that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand are not included.
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
2. Quotations, Inspections & Fault Finding
A quotation for clearly defined proposed works may be provided without charge where agreed in advance.
Attendance to investigate an existing fault, diagnose a problem, test equipment or systems, identify the cause of a failure, carry out an inspection, or provide technical findings is chargeable work and is not considered a free quotation.
Diagnostic and inspection charges remain payable for the work undertaken whether or not a fault can be identified during the initial attendance, a repair is subsequently possible, or the Client chooses to proceed with any recommended works.
3. Existing Installations
Reasonable care will be taken while carrying out our works.
Existing pipework, wiring, drains, equipment, appliances, fittings and building fabric may contain concealed defects, deterioration or weaknesses.
WDI Group is not responsible for pre-existing defects or failures which could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.
Where our work exposes a pre-existing defect or additional work becomes necessary, we will advise the Client and any remedial work will be chargeable unless included within the original quotation.
4. Additional & Unforeseen Works
Any work outside the quoted scope, including work arising from concealed conditions or additional work requested by the Client, may be charged additionally.
Where reasonably practicable, the additional cost will be explained and the Client's agreement obtained before the additional work proceeds.
5. Access & Site Conditions
The Client must provide reasonable and safe access to the property and working areas at the agreed times.
The Client is responsible for ensuring working areas are reasonably clear and that children, pets and other persons are kept away from the works.
Delays, aborted visits or additional attendance caused by unavailable or restricted access, the site not being ready, or circumstances outside WDI Group's control may be chargeable.
6. Making Good & Decoration
Unless specifically included within the quotation, painting, decorating, specialist plastering, tiling, flooring repairs, carpet fitting and matching existing decorative finishes are excluded.
Where making good is specifically included, reasonable efforts will be made to achieve a suitable finish; however, an exact match to existing aged bricks, tiles, flooring, paint, render or other finishes cannot be guaranteed.
7. Deposits
Where a deposit is required, the booking will not be confirmed and materials may not be ordered until cleared funds have been received.
Deposits may be used towards materials, equipment, supplier commitments and reserving labour for the works.
Any job-specific deposit or staged-payment requirements will be stated on the quotation.
8. Cancellation & Postponement
The Client should notify WDI Group as soon as possible if they wish to cancel or postpone scheduled works.
Where a cancellation or postponement occurs at short notice, including within 72 hours of the scheduled commencement date, WDI Group may, where permitted by law, recover reasonable costs and losses directly resulting from the cancellation or postponement.
These may include non-refundable or special-order materials, supplier cancellation or restocking charges, costs already incurred and reasonable losses arising from labour or working time specifically reserved for the Client which cannot reasonably be reallocated.
Any refund of a deposit will take account of sums WDI Group is legally entitled to retain or recover.
Nothing in this clause limits any statutory cancellation rights available to a consumer.
9. Payment
Payment terms will be stated on the quotation.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the outstanding balance is payable upon completion of the agreed works.
Where staged payments are specified, each payment becomes due when the relevant stage is reached.
Additional works agreed during the project will be added to the final invoice or relevant stage payment unless otherwise agreed.
10. Dates & Delays
Start dates and anticipated completion times are provided in good faith.
WDI Group will not be responsible for reasonable delays caused by circumstances outside our control, including supplier delays, material shortages, adverse weather, emergency works, hidden site conditions, Client variations or delays caused by other contractors.
We will keep the Client reasonably informed of significant changes to the anticipated programme.
11. Materials & Equipment
Where equipment or materials specified in the quotation become unavailable, WDI Group will discuss any material substitution with the Client before proceeding.
Where the Client supplies materials or equipment, the Client is responsible for ensuring they are suitable, complete and available when required.
Additional labour or visits resulting from incorrect, damaged, incomplete or unsuitable Client-supplied items may be chargeable.
12. Warranty
WDI Group will carry out the works with reasonable care and skill.
Any WDI Group workmanship warranty applicable to the works will be stated on the quotation or relevant trade-specific terms.
Equipment and materials may also be covered by separate manufacturer warranties, subject to the manufacturer's conditions, servicing requirements and exclusions.
Warranties do not cover pre-existing defects, misuse, accidental damage, lack of required maintenance, normal wear and tear or alterations/interference by third parties.
Nothing in this clause affects the Client's statutory rights.
13. Parking & Additional Site Costs
Unless specifically included, reasonable parking charges, permits, congestion charges, tolls or other site-specific access charges incurred in carrying out the works may be added to the invoice.
14. Permissions
Unless specifically included within our quotation, the Client is responsible for obtaining any necessary landlord, freeholder, managing-agent or other permissions required for the works.
The Client should ensure the required permissions are in place before work commences.
15. Trade-Specific Terms
Certain works are subject to additional trade-specific Terms & Conditions, including where applicable:
Boiler Installation • Boiler Servicing • Repairs & Fault Finding • Air Conditioning • Plumbing • Powerflushing • Bathroom Installation • General Building Works.
The applicable trade-specific terms form part of the agreement and are available on the WDI Group website.
16. Acceptance
Acceptance of this quotation, payment of a requested deposit or instruction for WDI Group to commence work confirms acceptance of the quotation, the scope of works, these Standard Quotation Terms & Conditions and any applicable trade-specific terms.
Where a quotation contains project-specific conditions, those conditions also form part of the agreement.
